This dashboard combines BTC/USD spot daily candles, the current 14-day RSI, Bitcoin's share of total crypto market capitalization and a BTC.D history chart. RSI describes recent price momentum, while BTC dominance describes market-cap concentration; neither reading is a standalone prediction.
How to read the Bitcoin RSI chart
The dashboard uses a 14-day RSI calculated from daily BTC/USD closes with Wilder’s smoothing method. RSI ranges from 0 to 100. Traders commonly describe values below 30 as an oversold zone, values above 70 as an overbought zone, and the middle as neutral. These are descriptions of recent momentum—not buy or sell instructions. Bitcoin can remain in an extreme zone while a strong trend continues.
What the Bitcoin spot candlestick chart shows
Each daily candle records the open, high, low and close for the Coinbase BTC/USD spot market. A green candle closed above its open; a red candle closed below it. Select 30, 90 or 300 days to move between a short recent view and a wider market context. Drag the chart to inspect candles and use a mouse wheel or pinch gesture to zoom.
Are Bitcoin spot and futures prices the same?
Not necessarily. This page calculates price and RSI from the BTC/USD spot market. A futures contract can trade above or below spot because of time to expiry, interest rates and market demand. This chart therefore does not replace a CME Bitcoin futures chart and does not show futures basis or perpetual funding rates.
How BTC dominance differs from BTC price
BTC price measures the dollar value of one Bitcoin. BTC dominance measures Bitcoin’s share of the total crypto market cap. Price and dominance can therefore move in different directions: Bitcoin may rise while dominance falls if altcoins rise faster, or Bitcoin may fall while dominance rises if the rest of the market falls faster.
Limits of this market view
Daily candles are aggregated market data and can differ slightly across venues. The current daily candle may still be forming. Market-cap percentages depend on the assets and circulating-supply estimates in the data provider’s universe. Use the dashboard for context and verify executable prices on the venue where you trade.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Bitcoin RSI today?
The current 14-day RSI appears in the live dashboard above and changes when a new daily BTC/USD close is incorporated. A reading under 30 is commonly called oversold, above 70 overbought, and 30–70 neutral, but those labels do not guarantee a reversal.
What does BTC dominance mean?
BTC dominance is Bitcoin market capitalization divided by the total crypto market capitalization. A rising value means a larger share of market value is concentrated in Bitcoin; it does not necessarily mean Bitcoin or altcoin prices must rise or fall. The BTC.D history chart above shows how the share changed over time.
How is the 14-day RSI calculated?
The page uses Coinbase BTC/USD daily closes, averages gains and losses over the first 14 periods, then applies Wilder smoothing. RSI equals 100 minus 100 divided by 1 plus average gain divided by average loss.
Is this a Bitcoin spot or futures chart?
The candles and RSI use the Coinbase Exchange BTC/USD spot market. The page does not display CME futures prices, futures basis or perpetual funding rates, so it should not be used as a Bitcoin futures chart.
Is this a live Bitcoin chart?
The page requests public market data when it loads and displays the update time. Candles use a daily interval, so it is a current daily market view rather than a tick-by-tick trading terminal.
