Normalized price performance

Each series starts at 100 so markets with different price units can be compared.

These are cash-settled HIP-3 perpetual markets. They do not deliver physical crude oil or natural gas. Funding, open interest and volume describe the market shown on Hyperliquid; they do not prove a directional trade.

Direct answer

This dashboard compares BRENTOIL, CL and NATGAS on Hyperliquid using normalized price performance, current and 24-hour funding, dollar open interest and 24-hour volume. It reports the leader for each observable metric instead of inventing one crowding score.

What is being compared?

BRENTOIL references Brent, CL references WTI crude oil and NATGAS references natural gas. They are different markets with different units, supply regions and drivers, so the chart rebases each price series to 100 rather than pretending their raw prices are directly interchangeable.

The Brent–WTI readout is simply the difference between the two displayed mark prices. It helps orient the comparison but is not a tradeable futures spread and does not account for contract specifications, delivery location or expiry.

How to identify the active or expensive market

  • 24-hour volume identifies where recent turnover is greatest.
  • Dollar OI identifies where the largest outstanding position value sits.
  • Positive funding means longs pay shorts; negative funding means shorts pay longs.
  • Normalized price shows relative performance over the same selected window.

The market leading one metric may not lead another. The dashboard therefore reports each leader separately rather than labeling one market “most crowded” from an opaque score.

Boundaries and risks

These HIP-3 products are leveraged, cash-settled perpetuals. They do not provide physical delivery and may differ from regulated commodity futures because of reference methodology, trading venue liquidity, funding and market hours. Verify oracle rules, leverage, margin and depth before trading.

It is the current difference between the two Hyperliquid mark prices. It is a reference comparison, not a directly executable futures calendar or location spread.
