Oil-related perpetuals can continue trading through a weekend, giving you a live reference when traditional futures are not trading. The panel above separates WTI-linked xyz:CL from Brent-linked xyz:BRENTOIL. It does not label these prices as the official futures close or Monday’s opening price.
Which price should I look at?
| Field | What it helps you understand |
|---|---|
| Mark | The venue’s valuation reference for the perpetual |
| Oracle | The external price reference used by the market’s pricing framework |
| Funding | A holding cost or receipt that can change hourly |
| Retrieval time | When this page last fetched the response |
A mark and oracle can diverge. A newly retrieved response does not prove that every underlying source has updated at that instant. When news breaks during a closure, thin liquidity and the market’s off-hours pricing design matter.
WTI and Brent are different benchmarks
The symbols are not interchangeable: CL is the WTI-linked market in this view, while BRENTOIL is Brent-linked. Both are quoted per barrel. Natural gas uses a different underlying unit, so a raw dollar comparison across all three is not a measure of relative cheapness. For percentage moves across energy contracts, use the energy comparison.
Can the weekend price predict the reopening?
It is one venue’s reference, not a guaranteed opening auction. Participants, funding, collateral and available liquidity differ from the traditional contracts. This page deliberately does not calculate a premium to an unverified Friday close. Compare like-for-like contract identity and timestamp before treating any difference as an opportunity.
Is the traditional market open right now?
The panel converts your current time to the exchange timezone and shows whether it falls inside the normal weekly schedule. This is separate from the Hyperliquid quote. It does not apply holiday overrides or confirm that an exchange is accepting orders.
- Standard CME WTI (CL): normally Sunday 17:00 through Friday 16:00 Chicago time, with a daily 16:00–17:00 pause. See the CME WTI overview and holiday calendar.
- ICE Brent: normal sessions are 01:00–23:00 London time, with the Monday session beginning Sunday at 23:00. See ICE Brent contract hours.
Daylight saving is handled using those timezones, not a fixed UTC offset. Holidays and special hours still require the exchange calendar. These schedules concern the named standard futures; they should not be applied to every oil-linked product.
Before using a displayed price for an order
Open the exact market and inspect bid/ask spread, executable depth and current funding. The mark is not a firm execution quote. A small market order can get a different fill from a large one, and a refresh can change the result. This tool reads public data and never submits orders.
Why do I sometimes see no quote?
Public endpoints can be unavailable, rate-limited or delayed. A missing contract stays unavailable. A stale value is not replaced with zero or a traditional benchmark from another date. Refresh the panel or check the venue directly.
