Funding is a periodic transfer between long and short positions, not a prediction. APR assumes the current hourly rate remains unchanged for a year; it is a comparison, not an expected return.
xyz:UNITREE is a cash-settled, isolated-margin HIP-3 perpetual on Hyperliquid's XYZ venue, currently capped at 10× leverage. After Unitree Technology listed on Shanghai's STAR Market as 688836, the oracle tracks one A-share and converts its CNH price into USD. The contract still provides no share ownership, delivery, dividends or voting rights.
What is Unitree?
Unitree Technology is a publicly listed robotics company known for quadruped and humanoid robots used in consumer, research and industrial settings. It began trading on the Shanghai Stock Exchange’s STAR Market under stock code 688836 on August 19, 2026.
The listing gives xyz:UNITREE a public-share reference, but it does not turn the Hyperliquid contract into Unitree equity. Company news and robotics-sector sentiment may influence the perpetual, yet the contract remains a derivative deployed by an external HIP-3 market operator.
What exactly is trading on Hyperliquid?
The market identifier returned by Hyperliquid is xyz:UNITREE. It is a perpetual derivative with USDC margin and cash settlement. Hyperliquid’s current metadata reports:
- 10× maximum leverage;
- isolated margin only;
- hourly funding between longs and shorts;
- no expiry date; and
- a mark price and oracle price used for risk and settlement calculations.
It is not Unitree stock, a tokenized Unitree share or an official token issued by Unitree. A position does not provide corporate ownership, dividends, voting rights, information rights or delivery of any share certificate.
trade.xyz’s current market specification says the oracle tracks the USD value of one Unitree Technology A-share. It converts the share’s CNH price into USD using the prevailing USD/CNH exchange rate. The mark price is the perpetual’s risk and liquidation price and can differ from the oracle.
When did UNITREE appear on HIP-3?
The most defensible public boundary is the market’s own data history. Hyperliquid’s official API currently returns the first hourly funding record for xyz:UNITREE at 2026-08-05 15:00 UTC. We treat that as the beginning of the publicly retrievable funding series—not as proof of an exact marketing announcement or first-trade timestamp.
This distinction matters because social posts, interface launch times and the first API record may not occur at the same moment.
How to read the live UNITREE panel
The top panel is designed to answer the questions traders usually need first:
- Who pays funding now? Positive funding means longs pay shorts; negative funding means shorts pay longs.
- Is the current rate persistent? Compare the current hour with the exact sum of hourly settlements over 24 hours, 3 days, 7 days or 30 days.
- How much risk is outstanding? Open interest estimates current position notional. It does not reveal whether the market is net bullish or bearish.
- Is the market active? Twenty-four-hour volume shows recent trading notional, not liquidity available at every price.
- Is pricing under stress? The mark/oracle basis highlights divergence between the exchange’s mark and reference price.
APR is a normalization of the current hourly rate over 8,760 hours. It is useful for comparison but assumes an unchanged rate and is therefore not a forecast or expected return.
Why can the perpetual price differ from Unitree’s listed share?
The oracle references the listed A-share, but the contract does not deliver that share. The A-share trades during Shanghai market sessions in CNH, while the perpetual is quoted in USD and remains tradable outside those sessions. FX moves, internal pricing outside the external session, funding pressure, leverage and order-book depth can all create a mark/oracle basis.
The number on screen is therefore the price of a cash-settled derivative, not a direct A-share quote or a claim on Unitree’s market capitalization.
Main risks
- Reference, session and FX risk: the oracle converts the A-share’s CNH price to USD. Shanghai trading hours, market closures, USD/CNH moves and internal pricing can produce gaps or divergence.
- Liquidity risk: a new market may have shallow depth, wide spreads and substantial slippage.
- Funding risk: repeated hourly payments can materially change position economics.
- Liquidation risk: 10× leverage leaves less room for adverse price moves; isolated margin limits collateral to the position but does not prevent a full loss of that margin.
- HIP-3 deployer risk: this is an externally deployed market, not a native crypto perpetual with a spot token underneath it.
- Company-event risk: earnings, products, regulation, exchange announcements and corporate actions can create abrupt repricing, including while the A-share market is closed.
Use the panel as a market-reading tool, not as proof of fair value. Verify the current ticker, oracle details, fees, margin requirements and order-book depth in the trading interface before acting.

Frequently asked questions
What is xyz:UNITREE on Hyperliquid?
xyz:UNITREE is a USDC-margined HIP-3 synthetic perpetual market deployed through the XYZ venue on Hyperliquid. It gives traders price exposure to a Unitree reference without delivering Unitree shares or tokens.
Is UNITREE on Hyperliquid actual Unitree stock?
No. Unitree Technology is publicly listed on Shanghai's STAR Market under stock code 688836, but xyz:UNITREE remains a cash-settled derivative. It provides no share delivery, ownership, dividends, voting rights or other shareholder rights.
How does xyz:UNITREE reference the listed Unitree share?
trade.xyz's current specification says the oracle tracks one Unitree Technology A-share and converts its CNH price to USD at the prevailing USD/CNH exchange rate. The perpetual's mark price can still diverge from that oracle, especially outside the A-share trading session.
When did the UNITREE HIP-3 market launch?
Hyperliquid's public funding-history API currently returns its first xyz:UNITREE hourly record at 2026-08-05 15:00 UTC. That timestamp is the beginning of the public data history we can verify, not an independently confirmed launch announcement.
What leverage and margin mode does xyz:UNITREE use?
Hyperliquid's market metadata currently reports a maximum leverage of 10× and isolated-only margin. The live panel reads the current leverage from that metadata because these settings can change.
What does a positive UNITREE funding rate mean?
A positive hourly funding rate means longs pay shorts at settlement; a negative rate means shorts pay longs. Funding describes positioning cost and imbalance, not the future direction of the market.
How should I read UNITREE open interest and 24-hour volume?
Open interest estimates the current notional value of outstanding positions, while 24-hour volume measures recently traded notional. Rising OI with volume can indicate new risk entering the market, but neither metric alone identifies direction or conviction.
